Room 53

Please dont go to this Redberry Homestay. The important thing is that you do not get hot water for your bath time. The sound box that we have brought, says that the bill is coming. We had 16 friends gone. There is 3 rooms. Giving a small soap to a room. A room fan is not right. If we ask them, it's okay when we see them. Tea is not served when we need it in the morning. It takes about an hour to make tea. These homestay people do not know how to treat pilgrims. There was no toothbrush, toothpaste system in the morning. They won't let us put the campfire in the space we just mentioned. He talks about money in everything. Our party for the night had no staff. His staff were not there when we were partying tonight. There was no extra hardwood system to put on the campfire.

One of the worst experience I had so far. I had to leave even before I stay due to unhygienic conditions I saw and the owner refused to refund my money after I paid full amount and finally refunded 50%. We haven't even checked in properly and they charged 50% for cleaning the room. Can't believe they are so money minded. I have been later informed I have stayed for 4 hours when I didn't even stayed in the room for 10mins. Guys please don't waste your time and money on this homestay, you'll certainly regret your stay. I have all the proofs of payment and I'll be filing a complaint for this on court soon.

We were a group of 8 and went for a 1 day stay since it was close to the Mullayangiri peak. We had already asked for 4 rooms but when we went there she told us that she would give us 3 rooms that would have 8 beds but after showing her the message in which she had confirmed for 4 rooms she let us have it. The rooms were clean and pretty decent but if your expecting 24 hour hot water or wifi then its just a dream not gonna happen. Plus there is electricity issue as well. Make sure you make prior arrangements if you want to have campfire and music here since theres very bad network coverage here. We had paid for campfire and bbq equipment we had taken with us but when we went there it was drizzling, so we requested her to let us use the Gazebo for dinner and bbq but she refused since they were using it to store items. Definitely won't recommended if your planning on these things in monsoon. She did let us use the bbq equipment which we got but she kept coming to us and complaining that her kitchen was filled with smoke. If she really didn't want this she should have made alternate arrangements for us especially when we have mentioned what our plan was. She's really nosy and she kep

A quaint little bungalow in the lap of the hills, Red Berry Homestay is a lovely place to stay in. You can see Mullayangiri peak from the portico, which is surrounded on all sides by the coffee estate. It is around 8 Km away from the town centre, so it is better to have your own transport. Rooms are very basic, but very clean. Food was very tasty, although unfortunately, not value for money. Items are very less, and if you are a non vegetarian, you will get only rice and chicken curry for a standard meal. This is disappointing since they charge Rs. 300 per meal. In the evening they light a lovely wood fire in the courtyard, complete with piping hot snacks. Aunty is very nice and helpful, although not conversant in English. Uncle is not so nice, and will charge you abnormally high in case you hire his jeep for sight seeing. Be sure to have a lot of cash handy, as there are not ATMs nearby and they do not accept cards. I would love to go back because of the wonderfully peaceful location.

Awesome homestay. A great cottage surrounded by coffee estate. All the amenities are good, 24 hrs hot water available. We stayed with our kids for 2 days. Nice hospitality by uncle and aunty also the worker Shivanna. Food was Ok. Dont miss the coffee as it is made by themselves without any chemicals. They arranged camp fire in the night, the served non veg snacks during camp fire, which was really delicious. One day we went to Kemmengundi which was around 60km far from the homestay, so they gave parcel for our lunch. All together this homestay is good. Dont miss it. I recommend this.. Note: Dont go beyond the negative reviews writtern here, as we didn't pay any single penny as hidden charges. So someone is intentionally writing all these negative reviews.
