Sally Holbrook★★★★★Not necessarily the physical property itself was my issue, it was other things that unfortunately ruined my days in Hampi. I would like to share that I have travelled a huge amount, to over 90 countries, and it is very rare for me to encounter what I did at Rocky’s. Normally I stay in dorm rooms at hostels, but decided to treat myself in Hampi, which was clearly a mistake. Never before have I been treated so badly. I also need to mention that the place was extremely noisy. This was not due to guests or the road, but the staff themselves, who were shouting very loudly outside my room early in the morning. It was not occasional noise, it was loud and disruptive. The main issue however was their Tuk Tuk driver, Eggy. While he may not technically be staff, he is effectively treated as such and clearly works closely with the property. He came and picked me up from the bus, which was no problem. The next day we agreed he would take me on a tour from 9am to 6pm, and we agreed a price of 1,600 rupees. I told him several times that I am very quick at going around places, but he insisted it would take nine hours. I agreed. At the first temple I came out and could not see him. There were s

Daniel Holloway★★★★★Avoid this accommodation! Me and my partner (UK) were charged a ridiculous amount for a shocking room which was not worth this. The service was terrible. The owner took our money and just drove off, not to be seen again until he was asking us to check out. There was no hot water, the wifi didn’t work, the room was not properly cleaned and had a horrible smell. The room also had a bad damp problem right next to the bed (see photos). Do not stay here.

Shaima 21★★★★★They told us we'd have a room with air conditioning, but we didn't, and they refuse to change our room even though there are rooms with air conditioning available. It's 40 degrees Celsius, we can't even open the windows because the mosquito nets are damaged, and the guy basically says he doesn't care.

Saroj Kashyap★★★★★An okay place in hampi on the virupaksha temple side of the river. However, found it to be very expensive for the quality of the rooms. 3/5 for cleanliness. WiFi fluctuated through the night. We were charged INR 2700/night for an AC double room which was high in comparison to other guest houses that were priced at 1-1.5k INR per night. Personally i wouldn't opt for this guest house the next time.

soyaTokyo★★★★★It takes about 40 minutes by auto-rickshaw from Hospet station to Hampi. When I sent a reservation email, I received a reply saying they would provide a rickshaw transfer for 200 rupees. ||The young owner was quite attentive and also helped with general sightseeing arrangements. ||They initially quoted me 1000 rupees for a full day of rickshaw rental (normally it's around 700 rupees a day, and Hospet transfers are around 150-200 rupees), but I was very grateful that they negotiated and got the price down when I left. ||The room was sufficient for a guesthouse, and from the chairs in the second-floor corridor/lobby (veranda?), ||I could see the Virupaksha Temple, which made me feel like I was on a journey while drinking tea. ||There were mosquitoes in the room and I got bitten quite a bit, which is a minus point. ||The electric mosquito repellent they gave me wasn't very effective. ||I stayed for two nights, and it had a shower and toilet, so it was the bare minimum I needed and there were no problems. ||It's in the city center and easy to get around. ||I was impressed that guesthouses have become so much cleaner compared to the past.

brightrose★★★★★We stayed here for one night based on good recommendations and were unfortunately disappointed. The bathroom was tiny, hot water was hit or miss, and the shower spray went in every direction except towards us. The room was very dark and barely ventilated, but it was clean. The mosquito net over the bed was far too small and, unfortunately, dirty. Our room was on the ground floor, where the family also lives. They were very noisy until late at night and early in the morning. We didn't try the restaurant as it wasn't inviting. However, the service was very good and Rocky was very friendly, hence the two stars.

Marcela65★★★★★I booked a budget room for three nights through Booking.com for 1000 rupees per night with no free cancellation option. Upon arrival, the room was small, dark, and unattractive, so they offered us a much better one for 1700 rupees per night without air conditioning, which we accepted. We were comfortable because the location is unbeatable, Rocky is super friendly and helpful, and the mattress was very comfortable. I'm not giving it a higher rating because I found it expensive compared to other hotels in India for what they offer. The guesthouse across the street offers an identical room with breakfast included in the price. They never changed the sheets or towels in three days, and the sheets were so small they kept slipping off, so you ended up sleeping on the mattress. It has a terrace with wonderful views of the temple, which is in a state of complete disrepair. With a few improvements, it would be spectacular. For example, a welcome bottle of cold water is something I've been offered for free in almost every hotel, even some much cheaper ones.

Niels★★★★★Good guesthouse with friendly and helpful people around most of the time. It is really expensive for hampi, in return you get a bigger room than other places and it's all really clean. WiFi was really bad though in our room which was very unfortunate for such a pricey place.

DieterB678★★★★★A clean, small, dark room with a small window, mosquito net, and fan. The guesthouse is run by a friendly Brahmin family. Unfortunately, we had booked a room without a bathroom and had to share the shower and toilet with the owners. Rooms with private bathrooms and air conditioning are better. Loud noises from the neighboring house came through our window starting at 5:00 a.m. The Indian breakfast was very tasty and inexpensive. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the roof terrace; we sat somewhat cramped on the first floor. Rocky is always available to help if you need anything.
