This place is very very unsafe. We were staying in the hotel and a service guy just entered the room suddenly, while the keys were with us and we had not checked out yet. Please do not visit this place if your safety is important.

Sharing my honest feedback: PROS: 1. Very good location if you like to stay a little away from the city center. 2. Rooms exactly match with the description and photos provided. 3. Very clean and well trained HK staff. 4. FO team at Day time is also very much friendly. CONS: 1. No dustbin at washroom for dumping basic things like sanitary pads etc. 2. Night FO staff is just useless and he needs the basic grooming on urgent basis. 3. No intercoms available for room service. 4. No mosquito repellants or liquidators provided. 5. Acc. to night FO staff there was no food available for dinner as the Chef was on leave, however we've seen the Room Service crew delivering food to our adjoining rooms. We spoke to them and they clearly said that you can place your order to the reception and we will do room service nothing to worry. We spoke to the FO guy again, but he denied any food and this was at around 8:30PM. This already spoiled our mood but we didn't wanted to have any brawl, so we politely asked him that Sir you could have informed us earlier about this, why you didn't informed us? And that idiot just keep on smiling looking at our disappointed faces and didn't even said a single so

It was a terrible experience at royal shalimar haande, chikmagalur. We had booked and paid via agoda for 16th to 18th jan and also received the confirmation on email. But at the time of check in, hotel staff deneied about the booking for the said dates and its actually booked for 17th jan to 19 th jan. And after a request they changed the dates for us. Once the check in is done, we asked for the breakfast at 9:30 am, unfortunately they had closed. We tried looking out nearby restuarant, but there was no restuarant nor hotels nearby with a radius of 10 kms. Hotel had there own resturant but with very limited chinese food options. There is no south indian food. Overall this was the worst experience and low quality service. There was a water leakage in washroom. Water leakage marks on the walls. I personally suggest, pleas do not go by shalimar hotel in haandi chikmagalur.

Stayed for one night. Rooms are fine but needs better maintenance.Zero Service.No Intercom. Mobile numbers shared either switched off or not responding. Even though booked with breakfast, assuming further discomfort left early...... Stay at your own risk. But location is superb

We stayed in this hotel for a night. We booked last moment because it was already late returning home from Chikmagalur (to Udupi). Went through the reviews here, maybe I was expecting more. We reached the hotel around 9:30pm and checked in. Man! The elevator was not working!! We had to carry our luggage by ourselves. The food here was The only plus point, it was good overall. Cleanliness was poor! They reuse bath towels and hand towels too! The ac damn! Was not working at all. Checked out at 9:00 in the morning . The lady receptionist was mean to us for no reason! Overall a bad experience! I wonder how this property achieved 4+ ratings?!

Service was extremely bad. Washrooms taps are bad. No maintainence of taps. And most worse thing is, they don’t have dinner after 8.45pm and we need to request them for something to get. And moreover no nearby restaurants for food. And morning, we asked for tea by directly going to kitchen, even then didn’t send us tea. Worst service. If you looking to enjoy your trip along with good food and service, please don’t choose this. They are many good ones in chikmagalur within town. Please don’t go by looks of the photos they put on site which are not right when you visit.

Very bad experience while staying in hotel. Service was too bad. We ordered food and it took 3 hrs to serve us the dinner. There was staff shortage. Also our room was leaking.
