The overall stay was not so good due to lots of things that happened within 2 days stay. We stayed for 2 full nights. > It is bit far from the main city, the road is not so good. When we went there, the only guest stayed there for 2 nights is us. This is between forest, so one who enjoy the peaceful environment, greens, nature, alone time will enjoy it however we felt so so scared on our first day and had actually decided to leave the place very next day however we somehow decided to stay there for the already planned 1 more night. Since we are the only couple stayed there for 2 days, after 7 full dark definitely a scary environment if there is not many people. The rooms are above and the owner's mother house is down. So we will be going down to have dinner and breakfast. No lunch will be provided. > The room were not clean, there was a big web in the room, felt like nobody had visited the places since several days/weeks. It was not well maintained. The hand wash was mixed with water, no proper facility. > The chef talks so much and he lies about everything, it is good if he talk how much it is needed. > There was a guy whose name is Guru he is a good guy, who took care of us unti

We stayed here for one night. The hosts were accommodating since we could reach only at 11 pm Pros: 1. Courteous hosts 2. Excellent breakfast - that is the only meal we had here 3. Tranquil setting amidst nature 4. understanding assistants 5. Room was spacious 6. Clean towels Cons: 1. We absolutely could not get any wifi signal in our room in spite of assuring about it prior to booking . Also no phone service on our mobiles. 2. Just returned yesterday after spending 3 days in Vastare, and I was compelled to write this review. It was one of the best vacations we had in a long time. The owners are so humble and down to earth people, after spending just few hours with them it felt we have known them forever. The staff is very courteous, food very tasty and the rooms are spacious and very well designed. Coming to the location, the homestay is located in the middle of coffee plantation, but not far from city centre. With lush greenery all around, its a refreshing experience to breath in such fresh air all day. The bonfire every evening with piping hot tea and snacks is just the perfect place to spend time with friends and family. The food is authentic Malnad style, freshly home cooked every time. Add to it the tea and coffee which was equally refreshing. DO visit the property once, for the view and the hospitality. Our last 3 days were 'Home - Stay' in true sense.

We are a family of four, checked in for one day, stayed overnight. Lovely experience, lovely people, had a really good, relaxing time laced with umpteen memorable moments, especially those with the ever welcoming and generous owner and family. For some detail, the wonderful aspects of our stay 1) The owner, Shashi Gowda ji, is truly all-heart, and an amazing person, full of generosity, warmth, ever-welcoming(as his family also is), went out of his way to connect with us at a personal level, be it in attendance to our concerns or dedicating his time to host us. 2) The location of the property and the rooms, is wonderful, covered all around by plenty of green cover comprised by trees and plantations. 3) The food is incredible. The quality and taste have been top notch and consistent for every item, every meal. 4) The rooms are very thoughtfully designed, it feels like a seamless integration of some artistic design ideas and proximity to greenery and ventilation. The idea to put in decor and design to restroom is something I haven't witnessed in other stays. Truly commendable 5) The garden and views from garden are beautiful, especially in evening. Vastare homestay is a beautiful and serene place. The rooms and large, clean and comfortable. The food is good. The staff took care of our concerns. At night the place gets pitch dark and they need to get the focusing light repaired and also the path to the rooms should have some lighting. Overall good place.

Lovely little resort run by a nice family. Great south Indian food, but food generally takes a bit of time to arrive. Everyone is friendly and nice. They need a few more common sitting areas particularly when it's raining and they have a large group which occupies the main sitting area. They have a lovely swing in the garden and some archery, cricket equipment etc. They just need a bit more of everything. Carry your own board games if you go during the rainy season and find yourself stuck in the room. The room has a lovely picture window looking out into the coffee plantation, but can get boring if you have nothing else to do. Pet friendly place so that's a huge plus!
