Worst experience!! When booked rooms through agoda, they did not mention children below 18 were not allowed. When we went there with children they were saying children were not allowed. Finally we had to cancel the booking with no refund. Additionally, that place is also not good. No proper road to that place. No greenery, nothing.

Zostel Hampi is completely overrated. 1. The location of the Zostel is so bad that you have to rely on Scooty/Auto only. 2. No food options nearby Zostel. The closest you have to go is almost 10 kms away. 3. Poor road conditions making it extremely difficult to reach. 4. Room prices are extremely exorbitant for the room offered. No privacy at all. You will hear everything happening in nearby rooms. No sound proofing at all. Attached photos of the cleaning done by the house keeping staff 5. Food quality is pretty average but since you dont have any option, you have to eat there only. 6. They charge 18 percent as Tax stating the room rent exceeds 7500 in a day which is pathetic. 7. Zostel have partnered up with some Scooty/Bike rentals which stay just outside the property. They give 10 year old bikes with broken helmets and dirty helmets for 500 rs a day. The scooty didn’t have a lock and had a mileage of barely 20 kmpl. Better to rent from outside. 8. Avoid coming back to Zostel at night via Scooty as the road conditions are bad and full of insects due to fields due to which your eyes and face will be filled with insects Zostel Hampi has been designed in a way to maximise p

Rating: ⭐ 1/5 (Personal Experience – Please Read Full Review) The only reason I’m giving 1 star is due to the presence of dogs and cats walking near and over my dining table. Not just one or two — there were 3 to 4 dogs and multiple cats in and around the dining area. While I do understand that many guests seemed to enjoy this, myself and a few others were uncomfortable and concerned, especially seeing animal hair on the dining table. I have a strong allergy to pet hair, which made my dining experience stressful and unsafe. That said, I would still like to share the positives, because the place does offer a lot: Rooms: 5/5 – Well-maintained, cozy, and absolutely worth it. Food Quality: 4/5 – Aloo Parotta was excellent. I’d recommend the veg options over non-veg. Location: 5/5 – Beautiful, serene, remote. Do note: it’s far from the city, and that’s part of its charm. Service: 4/5 – Staff was friendly and helpful. We also loved the other animals that were outdoors and kept in appropriate enclosures – rabbits, goats, etc. They added to the rural charm and were a delight to watch in outdoor spaces, not while dining. If I had known dogs and cats would be sharing the dining area

It was really disappointing.||1. The location is far from the main attractions of Hampi. The isolation of this place would have been an advantage if it were somewhere in the mountains, where people go to chill, work, or have a long trip. However, since Hampi only requires 2-3 days for exploration, this far location stay doesn't make much sense. You will have to return to the property by sunset because it's right beside a forest with the risk of animal attacks at any time.||2. The place is not suitable for solo travelers. The property is filled with families and friend groups, and you'll hardly see any solo travelers there. Also, they don't organize any events for people to engage with each other.||3. Miscommunication or lack of communication from the management: Ideally, in any hostel, the person at the front desk should give you a short intro and guidelines about the property. Here, they don't seem to care about it at all. They won't inform you about what's allowed or not allowed on the property, and there isn't even a basic guideline poster. The way they handle traveler stays ends up causing trouble for both themselves and the guests. If you extend your stay these people change y

Highly disappointed with the cleaning of the zostel. Seems like the owners don't care about anything as long as they have people coming and staying. Have had much better experiences at other zostels. The food at the restaurant and the restaurant staff is the only highlight of this place. But accommodation and common areas were not managed and kept clean. Basic things like the lighting of the dorm is extremely poor. The shower flow is so bad you need to literally aim and make sure some of the water falls on you. There is no effort in maintaining the property. Very poor. Also, when I suggested the waiter that few more vegetarian breakfast options would help for people staying for long duration he started mocking me saying egg is also vegetarian, mutton is also vegetarian.

Right place. Wrong people. Why stay at a place where you don't feel welcomed and everything is just about a reservation and money? Also I never thought an empty cafe at a zostel in india could have reserved tables for foreigners! I've stayed at other zostels but this one was definitely not the one. What a waste of such a beautiful place due to bad management.

Worst staff experience. The staff behaved extremely rudely and unprofessionally, which completely ruined the visit. There was no courtesy, no willingness to help, and the overall attitude was very disappointing. I would strongly advise others not to visit this place.

Extremely dubious payment/booking process, claim no-prepayment, then ask for full payment over an email threatening to cancel the booking out of the blue with 2 hour notice. All contact numbers shared are unreachable. Mindblowing. The guy from the property calls up and starts shouting - totally insane management, not a Zostel experience for sure.

I have been to different zostel before. But this one disappointed me. The manager was not at all responding correctly, and there were no games available only Carrom was there. The board games were locked in the cabinet, and the manager told the key is not there. There are too many bugs, lizards, and ants leading to difficulties in having good sleep. Fan speed was set at only 2 levels, slow and fast need of maintenance. Hopefully, this will be taken care of, or else you will lose one more customer.

Very bad customer service they are not willing to answer any question even on the first call. Then I image what they would do after once I pay for the room. The person on the call just disconnected the call in middle of the conversation just because I was inquiring for a room one and half month before. And he was like information will be available only one month before. How dumb is that, if I am planning to come I need at least the basic info on the room prices and stuff so that I decide on the rooms even if I make the booking one month prior. This is pathetic with this kind of disrespect no one would come to you guys. Better do well at customer service otherwise the brand name would be of no use.

I had a really bad experience at Zostel, Gangavathi. I can't begin to tell how rude the owner lady is!! She came at 9:55 am, banged the door and asked us to checkout shouting at the top of her voice! (The checkout was at 10am). We found that our neighbours also faced the same issue. She and her son were really rude and impolite. Her son was at the reception during our checkout and was throwing cheap tantrums at us. Wish they had someone matured assigned to assist with the checkout process. The service is just really bad here. I had to wait one and a half hour for my dinner to arrive while the foreigners were being catered to every 10 mins! And this is after repeatedly reminding them of my order. The food is average, with many options but is definitely on the pricier side. And if you need bills for the alcohol you are consuming, you are never gonna get it. The guy at the reception told me he will send it to me after talking to some minister, but I never got the bill. They sell it at a 55% hiked non-MRP rate. The rooms are decent with good interiors. But you will have to remind them every one hour to put on the motor inorder to pump water for bathroom use. Which was annoying. One of

Cons: 1.It is inconveniently situated away from the main attractions, making travel to popular sites cumbersome. 2.The inconvenient location of Zostel Hampi leaves guests with little choice but to dine at the hostel, as other dining options are distant and not easily accessible. 3. Moreover, the remote and distant location of Zostel Hampi raises concerns about safety, particularly for guests navigating the area after dark. The lack of nearby facilities and the secluded nature of the surroundings may contribute to an unsettling atmosphere, impacting the overall sense of security for those staying at the hostel. Pros: On a positive note, It shines in its design, catering well to backpackers, especially those traveling in groups of four or more with access to a car for nighttime travel.

Location is secluded and it is really far from sight seeing places. Doesn't worth spending money on transportation when one can take accommodation near sight seeing places. Zostel is a brand but it doesn't stand by its name. To be honest, Service was not good at all and it is casual and nobody is professional enough to cater the customer with good service.
