“We booked on Booking.com as we were able to pay on arrival, a couple days before our stay they sent us a link to pay insisting we pay now to secure booking which we did. Upon arrival they got us to pay again by card, which we mistakenly did (we had booked multiple hotel bookings for the trip so in the moment overlooked we had already paid this one). Whilst we were there we brought up the issue and they said that the double payment would be refunded, this was 1-2 weeks ago and we have still not received it. We did chase it up over email and they assured they would refund it, since then they have stopped responding.”

“Really disappointing stay at The Fern Residency, Hubali even after booking a suite. The food was bad, the washrooms weren’t clean, the AC didn’t work, and both the phone and internet were down. Payment was also a hassle, and they don’t accept Amex despite being a Marriott group. Overall, not comfortable and not worth the price.”

“After staying at multiple Fern hotels, it felt safe to go for this blindly. But, it was a huge mistake. The Fern Hubli lacks the most basic item - hygiene. The pillows had stain marks. Washroom had weird strong smell. Everything was old and rusty. I couldn't use the washroom as it just didnt feel ok. The restaurant staff is good. Food is kind of mixed review..because they did serve good lunch, but for breakfast they could not even make a dosa right. Housekeeping is not super quick but prompt. Overall, it is a good 2 star local Hotel but nowhere near Fern label. After this, I will never trust Fern blindly again.”

“My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The service was poor, and the overall experience was far below expectations. Basic professionalism was missing. The most concerning issue was that they did not provide a proper bill/receipt despite requesting it multiple times. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would not recommend this hotel to others and hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve their services.”

Yogi Govender★★★★★Pathetic service. We have been traveling for 5 weeks throughout India and have never experienced such poor service. Waiting for more than 40 minutes for towels. You have to repeatedly call reception. Room service extension is unanswered. At breakfast there were no glasses or cutlery or serviettes on the table. I requested milk coffee and got black. The service is very slow . I will never come back here.

Jatin Gohil★★★★★DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU'RE TRAVELLING AND LOOKING FOR A COMFORTABLE TRANSIT STAY. Mosquitoes in the room. Same problem even after changing twice. Had to call multiple times to get basic guest amenities delivered. The shower doesn't work in the morning and they give INR 60.00 discount. For this pathetic experience they believe this is the best possible solution. Staff is polite but not equipped to give any solutions, this is just the management taking advantage of their situations.

Arbaaz Khan★★★★★The worst hotel in Hubli. Charging as much as a normal 3-4 star hotel but worse than a normal lodge. Worst room I’ve even stayed in, smells like rotten food. The washroom is the worst part of the hotel it’s disgusting. The shower has no water pressure at all it’s like taking a shower from a tap. Please do not think of staying in this hotel. The pictures given are probably edited.

MS★★★★★Horrible stay and experience. Terrifying Experience – Safety Not a Priority I stayed at this hotel with my wife and had an extremely disturbing experience that I cannot ignore. We checked in around 8 PM, and everything initially seemed fine. However, at approximately 12:30 AM, we were jolted awake when hotel staff attempted to forcefully enter our room without any notice or explanation. To make matters worse, the lock on the door was broken, and it became clear that our safety was compromised. Feeling unsafe and alarmed, I had no choice but to call the police. What followed was even more shocking – the hotel manager dismissed the incident as a “simple mistake” without offering any proper explanation or sincere apology. This was not just an inconvenience – it was a deeply frightening experience for both me and my wife. We chose this hotel expecting a safe and comfortable stay, but instead, we were left traumatized and feeling completely vulnerable in the middle of the night. I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to rethink your decision, especially if personal safety and privacy are your priority. Incidents like these are unacceptable and should never be brushed aside.
