I stayed at The Hosteller HSR Layout and had an experience that exposed a serious flaw in their booking process. As a guest already staying at the property, I needed to extend my stay. Instead of having a simple “extend stay” option, I had to make a fresh booking each time. While extending my stay, I accidentally created an overlapping booking under my own name. This was a genuine human error, but what concerns me is that the system allowed it in the first place. A booking platform should be able to detect that the same guest already has an active reservation for the same property and warn them before accepting another booking for overlapping dates. Instead, the booking went through and I was charged. The staff at the reception understood exactly what had happened and agreed that it was an obvious mistake. However, they told me there was nothing they could do to resolve it. As a result, I ended up paying for two bookings when only one could actually be used. What makes this frustrating is that the issue seems preventable: * There is no simple stay-extension feature. * The system allows overlapping bookings under the same guest. * There is no warning before payment. * Property

it’s okay. there are several downsides / things to improve: - the web checkin takes a relatively long time. and it’s additionally needed to provide partly the same information in the big book handwritten - everytime you want to enter the dorm you need to unlock your smartphone, open the browser, open the GLU website, tap on OTP dorm door and put in the 8 (!) digit otp. so annoying. the guests let the dorm door open all the time because they are also annoyed. - at the time of checkin it wasnt mentioned that there is a rooftop - at the time of checkin it wasnt mentioned that it’s needed to notify the reception about the checkout. it’s not an automatic checkout here. - there is no common room with plates and cutlery. you need to ask the staff for that everytime - “hostel” usually means that there is a common kitchen. But not at “The Hosteller” - the ladder of the bunk bed is rather uncomfortable to climb up - in the bathroom there is nothing to dry your hands - there is only one bathroom in the dorm. Quite noisy. If someone plays those table games in the ground floor, you can hear from your room (3rd floor in my case) even after 10pm. Walls are thin, so easy to hear sounds from hallways. The noise issue needs to be addressed. Door locks are also problematic in many ways, many others face this (trying to unlock for minutes or just leave the door open). Good location, helpful receptionists. Clean room.

It’s a cool place if you wanna co-live here while working. Rooms are nice and clean, and staff is very helpful. One issue is that they removed disposable cups near water filter. Good step for environment, but you might face issue if you wanna drink hot water.

Very nice and well maintained rooms. Clean bed and bedsheet. Clean bathrooms. I stayed in 4 sharing Dormitory. It was worth staying if you are solo or with friends. Very hassle free and user friendly checkin and checkout. Every floor there are CCTVs and drinking water facilities. Happy to visit again.

Very safe and easy to access location. Service is extremely helpful and prompt. Place is very clean. Bedding is soft and comfortable. Stay was overall peaceful and crowd was also decent. Certain facilities could have been more like I wouldve loved a kitchen and utensils, and a permanent AC remote in the dorm, but other than that 5 star experience this time!
