Absolutely nothing was pleasant about my stay, dirty bathtubs and mismanaged heritage where I was awakened at 5:30 AM by an intimidating ceremony. It was scary, I do not recommend it. This property has nothing to do with Welcomheritage or ITC standards. A cheap motel would give you better sleep. They are so inconsiderate that there was a wedding like procession happening outside my room at 5:30 AM. The front office staff Sameer had told me that a priest would be doing some chanting outside my parents room to which I told him that we don't want him to wake us up as we have a long day of Hampi exploration the next day. He was extremely assertive and was simply informing us instead of seeking permission. I was not comfortable with that and told him that the priest can whisper but the priest at 4 AM was ringing bells and reading mantras outside my senior citizen parents' room. He never told us about the 5:30 AM wedding like procession which woke us up with a shock. There were loud trumpets and drum rolls and there was smoke flowing into my room. I thought that it was a bad dream. If I would not have made the pre payment, I would have called the police and not paid the tariff because

I visited for lunch on the way to Hampi about a month ago. The first impression when you drive in the gates is wow. Unfortunately that’s the highlight. The service is indifferent and the food is terrible. Over spiced and full of garam masala. It’s like poor quality roadside dhaba food. None of the alcohol was chilled either. We had to drink wine with ice. The manageress came and greeted us but then locked us in the dining room so we couldn’t venture anywhere else. The dining room was shabby, a tv was playing Tata sky news, and the sideboard was laden with junk. The car museum has 4 cars but it’s locked so you can’t see them. It’s very sad because the property has so much potential but is poorly run. I can’t understand how others have given 5 star reviews. It’s as if they have reviewed another property altogether

We drove from Bangalore on our way to Hampi and stopped at Shivavilas Palace for lunch. We were so impressed with the entrance to the beautiful building, however once we reached we were greeted a very indifferent Manager who ushered us into a shabby dining room and served us tasteless overly spiced food packed with garam masala. The ghee roast had no ghee in it, and everything was oily and spicy. We asked for wine but there was none chilled. We asked to see around the palace but were politely refused inspite of inspite of spending a lot of the “lunch”. Definitely won’t be going back.

Driver wash room is very Dirty and unhygenic, There is no Dormitory for Drivers, This place is not suitable for people Tourist Drivers coming from other cities . So Cab Drivers and All Tourist Drivers please be make sure before taking Duties to this place from other cities. The management is irresponsible and showing their attitudes to Drivers .

Lame, the lady in charge was so rude and she was not only inhospitable but also passed on some degrading comments to me and my elderly parents and family, she got no chill, the concept of not clicking pictures whilst dine-in itself is the lamest concept ever. I request the management and the staff to kindly look into this matter at the earliest and restore the sanctity of the place.

The lady in charge passed some mean comments on my parents, so unprofessional and unethical of her behavior. She even asked us to leave the place immediately just because we were clicking some pictures of the garden and when told we were waiting for our car, she replied that she knows how the "cheap mentality of people here works" and even asked us "if we have traveled enough to know the protocols" which was completely unacceptable and out of the line. She has to know her limits and respect any type of customers irrespective of their background. We were just there to have lunch and spend some good time with family, which was ruined by her inhospitable behavior.

One of the worst place. No hospitality at all. During lunch time they did not allow to sit us at dining hall but verandah with reason that dining hall is book. We were forced to finish lunch at outside of dining hall facing hot wind. The taste of food were hell. It’s just waste of money to go at this place…

If you planning for a dinein not worth as you are not allowed to see the palace or click pictures inside. To click a picture or see the palace you have to pay 1000. This is not mentioned anywhere on their site. 1000 is no redeemable.
