We chose this hotel for its ambience, but the service was terrible. Food quality was bad and there were not enough staff. Both our rooms had non‑functional TVs and the fridge didn’t work either. Even after two days of continuous follow‑up, no one fixed it. The support staff oddly asked which channels we wanted so they could activate paid subscriptions. Repeated complaints to the manager, Mohan, were ignored, and he didn’t even apologise. They also insist on full payment before check‑in, which explains why service is neglected.

I strongly advise against booking this hotel. My experience has been extremely disappointing and untrustworthy. Don't book this hotel directly or online as they don't refund money incase of cancellation. There is no policy even you cancell the booking 10 days ago they don't refund money. Property is very unsafe and far from the city. People are not good very rude behaviour. You can't trust these people from manager till the ground level people. Better not to book this hotel else your peace of mind will go away. Your holiday will become scary days and nights

I stayed here for 1 night on my way to gokarna. I had a huge expectations from this place, but what i saw was : 1. Cottages are not well maintained 2. Swimming pool and the surrounding areas are not cleaned 3. Waiting time is too long for any meal (lunch/dinner) 4. No wifi in cottages.

Very Disappointed with their service, Greet and hospitality. The basic service level is missing. Even though confirmed the early check-in room was not provided and made me wait for more than 2.5Hrs. The swimming pool was not cleaned for more than 1 month i guess. 1st rooms were sold-out they said, after there is no single customer in the room. Very scary.

We visited Royal Rich County, Gangavathi, which was once famous as the “train restaurant.” We came with kids to enjoy the train dining experience, but unfortunately, the train is no longer functioning due to poor maintenance. The food quality was disappointing — the taste was not up to the mark, prices were quite high, and the service was extremely slow as there seemed to be only one server and one chef handling everything. Overall, it was not a good experience. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place with family.

This place blatantly overcharges customers by billing more than the MRP for packaged items — a clear violation of consumer law. It’s unacceptable, dishonest, and shows zero respect for customers. I strongly advise others to check their bills carefully. When I asked the management about the high charges on a water bottle and a Sprite bottle, they didn’t even respond properly. Instead, they replied sarcastically and said it’s the rule in their hotel.

DO NOT trust the reviews and 4.4 rating. I booked two "Royal Cottages" for my family, and we were beyond disappointed with the service. We had to call the reception and physically visit them several times to get basic necessities like water bottles, bath towels, soap, other toiletries, extra mattress etc. AC remote was missing in the room, we had to ask for that as well. They only provided two 500ml water bottles for 3 adults, which is completely inadequate. We stayed here for 3 nights, but the rooms were never cleaned, and the management's excuse was that we had locked the rooms during the day! Not sure if they expect us to leave it open, or if they really don't have a second key to the rooms. We had to deal with unclean smelly bathrooms during our stay. The complimentary breakfast is another disaster. The buffet was empty most of the time, they took forever to restock dishes, and people queued up in the kitchen due to unavailability of dishes. The hotel management needs to improve a lot on room service and breakfast service if they want to make this a decent resort.
