“The property shines on the outside and stinks (metaphorically) on the inside, when it comes to services. Word of advice a. Check for AC functionality of the room before finalizing! We changed three rooms in a span of three hours and all of the ACs were not working upto the mark. Even though we set them at 16 degrees, it felt like 28-30. They brought in special thermometers to check the room temp and sure as hell, it turned out to be 26. b. This property is rarely used by people for personal stay and is mostly booked by the city folks for events and functions. Hence, all the good rooms are booked by guests and only a couple of them (with the problems we described) are available for online booking. c. The staff is responsive but typically takes long times to respond. Our issue wasn't solved for three hours and we had to check out and check back in to a different hotel. d. Since the booking was from MakeMyTrip, they are uncooperative in terms of cancellation and refund, citing lack of cooperation with MMT. Beware To summarise, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Hotel Sai International (3-4 kms) is a way better arrangement and has spacious rooms with better services.”

“Over Priced during weekends. Waste of Money. Pathetic Front Desk. Stinking Room. Lots of mosquitoes in room AC was not working Fan was not working Mosquitoes in food served in room Balcony is shared with other rooms. Other room guests can jump to our room balcony. No Safety. No Privacy. Overpriced INR 6,200 per night on Saturday. Should be charged around INR 2,000 per night. Slow check in process. Room was not ready even when we made a very late check in. Furniture is not equipped with bush to avoid noise while dragging. You cannot sleep the whole night. There were guests above us who were constantly dragging furniture from night 2100 hours till 0130 hours and they again started dragging furniture from morning 0430 hours. We informed the front desk multiple times and the person in charge on that day evening Mr. Imran gave us an arrogant response and I quote, "You are our guests and they are also our guests, even they paid money, we can only request them once or twice, but we cannot make them stop doing what they are doing in the room."”

I stayed for 3days in Radisson blue coimbatore for this price . Staff is rude and charged us a extra 1800 rs for 1hour delayed check in . I don't understand how the travel advisor suggests such low class hotel”

Sharan cv★★★★★Went for dinner with family It was big occasion for us as there were more than 30 members who came for dinner but this 1star hotel provided one of the worst services one can imagine Even though we pre booked the hall and some items ,this 1star hotel made us wait for more than 1.5h without any food or drink and the manager ignored our calls saying he has some birthday celebration.. There was no one at the counter or bar Belive me they charged so much for this third class service Uterly disappointed and never booking at this hotel again and will inform others to do the same as well

GAURAV★★★★★We visited this place yesterday with family. First thing that no one is available there to guide or help you. After some time the waiter approached and ask for order. Whatever ordered he just provided 50% of ordered item and one order totally missed from starter. For main course also he provided half quantity of given order. He spoiled the mood of all family members. No one was available there to raise our concerns too. Very bad experience.

Navin Kumar★★★★★Stayed at Southern Star twice, first time was 6 months back around June timeframe and second time was two weeks back. First time stay was fine but second time cleanliness and facilities were below average 1. Toilet paper provided was not sufficient for single use and there was no spare one available. 2. Towels provided were soiled like they were used million times. 3. No napkins in the room It was total ripoff, price was on par with 4 star hotel but facilities were below average.

Snacks were not replaced before check in and accused us of eating and then later apologised. After having breakfast we had upset stomach. Overall very bad experience. Don’t recommend at all.

The staff, particularly Imran, the so-called duty manager, are shockingly unfit for their roles. I checked out at 6 am after waiting 12 hours for my laundry, only to receive my denim wet at 1:08 am. Despite clear instructions to return it by 10 pm, they failed miserably. When I checked out, Imran had the audacity to charge me for the wet garment, claiming they had to charge for the wash regardless of it being dry. He was rude, unprofessional, and clearly lacks any understanding of hospitality. Even more absurdly, they couldn't provide a laundry bill and continued arguing without resolving the issue. To the hotel promoters: invest in competent, educated staff. Individuals like Imran are not suitable for any role, let alone duty manager. This experience was among the worst I've had, highlighting the severe shortcomings of small, regional brands in customer service. Avoid this place at all costs!

Sahana Kappali★★★★★My checkin time was at 12pm and I got the room at 5.30pm. I had my function in the noon, nobody bothered to resolve my query. Hotel Managers were not picking up the calls. Had a bad experience experience on my big day itself. They gave some random room for time-being. Made us to feel terribly sad. This shouldn’t be happening with others, Please take care if this seriously from next time.

Also the staff at the reception were irresponsible. Despite of asking them to clean the room at 3pm...they did not bother to send anyone to clean the room.. If anyone is visiting Davanagere avoid booking at Southern Star.

Extremely dirty, haven't been dusted in a while, rooms not ready on time, you need to remind them for pillows, towels etc. We were told to manage with two pillows between three people as hotel was running full ( obviously a lie). Mind you,the hotel isn't cheap - but the service provided for that amount is zero. They didn't have the courtesy to show us to our room or help if with our luggage. Please don't trust the fake reviews you see on Google.

Negligent staff at restaurant, neither in a mood to serve food after one hour of ordering nor ready to listen to this complaint. 2. Staff at reception does not understand where to send an 80 years old person to use the toilet. He sent my father to toilets made for drivers where one latrine was locked and other occupied. There was a toilet in restaurant but he was sent out to go to the drivers' one. 3. One room did not even have bath soap and tea kettle. I am giving 1 star only because I cannot give 0 but the listed positives are the bare minimum default expectations from a star hotel and not to be considered as "positives".

Abhimanyu Bangalore★★★★★Southern Star ! Never again. This is not a hotel It's a community hall. Please please please do not waste your money here. Even if they give me their suite room for 500 rupees we will never take it. We stayed in a suite which was alright. Rooms are not sound proof and there is a convention centre attached to it. Expect high volume of music, bass, people shouting in all sorts of sanskrit words. Food is below average. Service is the worst. Don't expect service as they are not from the hospitality industry. The only good experience at this place was each time we complained to the manager Shankar he tried to accomodate and tried being helpful. But unfortunately, his staff didn't coordinate with him well. LANGUAGE BARRIER !! Feel sorry for him. Please save your money and stay some where else. This was probably the worst stay experience in my life. NEVER AGAIN !! PS - We did an early checkout.
