We booked the resort 15 days in advance and paid an advance of ₹5,000. However, just 12 hours before check-in, the owner called to inform us that our booking was cancelled ,without any explanation or apology. He simply asked us to take the refund. The call came barely an hour before our bus departure, leaving us with no option but to cancel the entire trip and forfeit our bus fares (4k). Once a booking is accepted, it is unacceptable to cancel it at the last moment like this. This reflects sheer greed and complete lack of professionalism.

When we booked White Sand Hotel from Booking.com, it was mentioned that no advance payment was required, but when we called the hotel owner, he demanded Rs. 1500 from us online. We sent the money, but when we went to the hotel, we did not like the rooms. The environment there was very dirty, not suitable for a family to stay at all. There was a lot of unsanitary conditions there. So we canceled our stay there and asked the hotel owner for the deposit of Rs. 1500 back, but he refused to give it and replied rudely that our Rs. 1500 has been lost. Do not send any advance payment. First, check the hotel thoroughly. It is not the hotel that is shown in the online photos. My hotel is 35 kilometers away from Hampi. To cheat customers, they are showing the distance from Hampi online as 3 kilometers. This distance has to be covered by a river boat.

Worst experience in Hampi so far. The place looks decent but the attitude of the staff ruins everything. They act like they’re doing you a favor by serving. No basic courtesy, extremely slow service, and half the menu unavailable. When asked about drinks, they simply said “not available” for everything and don’t even allow customers to bring their own. Totally unprofessional and not worth the hype. Don't have a Negative -ve ratings else that would be the best and real review based on our Experience Oct/2025

Alert- Please do not rely on booking.com confirmation because owner of this stay takes booking from outside. I was not given a room upon arrival even though booking.com was showing there is availability. Stay is absolutely beautiful. But not the servie

Very disappointing experience. The manager took ₹2000 advance a week before our check-in, but on the check-in day informed us that the property was already full. There was no apology or solution—only a casual response: “Ab kuch nahi ho sakta, ap apne paise le lo.” This shows a complete lack of professionalism. I would strongly advise others not to book this place.

​I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the experience did not match the price tag. While the ambiance is nice, the food is significantly overpriced for the quality and portion sizes provided. Paying premium prices should come with a premium experience, but that wasn't the case here.

Very disappointing experience at White Sand, Hampi. The staff were extremely arrogant and unhelpful. Service was slow and rude. They don’t serve the drinks you ask for, and they don’t even allow you to bring your own. Definitely not worth visiting — there are much better places nearby with friendlier service.

If there was an option to give negative stars, I would have. The staff at White Sand, Hampi are extremely arrogant and have no sense of hospitality. Service is terrible, and they don’t serve the liquor you ask for — nor do they allow you to bring your own. Totally disappointing experience.

Unfortunately, our booking at this hotel was an absolute nightmare. Upon arrival, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful, displaying a dismissive attitude towards my inquiries. He cancelled our room without prior notice even though full amount was paid in advance. Denied to provide us the rooms. Overall, this hotel provided an appalling experience and failed to meet even the basic standards of hospitality, Never recommended this place if you are looking for a comfortable stay with good vibes.

The bookings are badly managed in this place. They were uncertain whether my booking was confirmed, and were not very welcoming. They apparently add fictional units to their property to ensure they get filled, so it is possible that you show up with a booking and there is no room available. Some guys who were not guests seemed to hang out there all the time perhaps looking for European girls to hit on, but the property itself seemed under-staffed with kids hired to do some of the work. The cottage is overpriced and pretty much useless except for the bed and the porch. The bathroom was not very clean and you could hear voices from the next cottage.

Unfriendly Staff. They give plastic glasses for alcohol beverages and when asked they just gave two of whiskey glass. Almost double pricing for beers. Bad music choice. Food was ok. My suggestion is to have fun at your respective Homestay in Hampi and do not plan to hangout explicitly in such places which are just overpriced. Ambience is of low light and choice of music is pretty bad. Dissatisfied as a traveller. Not recommended

Terrible Experience - Unbearable Host Last-Minute Cancellation Nightmare The host canceled our booking when we arrived at the hotel, causing immense inconvenience. His attitude was unbearable, and it was clear he was not concerned about our experience. A truly disappointing and frustrating situation. We had a dreadful experience with the host - unbearable attitude, arrogant demeanor.

There restaurant foods taste sucks and also too costly, just like u r paying for garbage. Too much delay. Advise to avoid. If you go there, then make it clear in advance or earlier or prior to order or booking.
