Unfortunately, our experience at this stay was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. We genuinely felt unsafe due to the owner’s behaviour after drinking. The way he spoke to us and behaved with our group late at night was rude, aggressive, and highly unprofessional. We had already shifted to a lower room after being told that playing music would not be an issue. However, later at night, he came in an intoxicated state and created an unpleasant scene with my friends, which made us feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. Eventually, we had to leave the property in the middle of the night. Apart from this, the room itself lacked basic hygiene and maintenance. Essentials like tissues, fresh bedsheets, and basic room upkeep were missing. We were already skeptical about staying here from the beginning, but unfortunately, the experience turned out to be far worse than expected. Would not recommend this place, especially for anyone looking for a safe and comfortable stay. Worst and UNSAFE

We had booked the stay one month in advance. When we arrived, they were overbooked and we were asked to stay in the outhouse. The stay was extremely disappointing and unsanitary. There were rats and lizards in the room. Despite complaints, there was no action taken. The host Ms. Gauravi on multiple occasions asked us to leave if we were unsatisfied with the room in the middle of the night. The vegetarian food was very bad and very little effort had been put into preparing it. Uncle and aunty were extremely sweet and welcoming. Overall the stay and food was below average.

We stayed in the wooden cottage - it was a pathetic experience for the lack of a better word. Firstly, we booked one month in advance and they were over booked so they put us in the wooden cottage (which is basically an outhouse). The room had 2 rats and so many lizards and was so dirty. Mr Manju Chethan (the owner) is not involved in the daily service etc and barely cares about guests. Ms Gauravi is the most inhospitable person you’d meet - we were 3 women and when we complained about the rats - initially she told us that we are lying and there are no rats. Later she told us to go find some other stay if we have so many issues. The non veg food was although very homely and tasty and the old uncle caretaker is the sweetest but that surely does not make up for our overall horrible experience. I would not recommend anyone to book Winter Valley stay in Chikkamagalur.

Worst rooms and bathrooms Very poor maintenance It was just for one night and I saw 2 rats many lizards just right above us and lots of mosquitoes and faucets were broken and main door has poor security . We stayed at this property on 15th Jan evening. We selected the property based on the 5 star Google rating, and the outdoor pictures of the vicinity. But frankly, it was a disappointing experience. Ours was a last minute booking, but still there are some basic cleanliness standards that we expect out of a stay, which were not met. Before checking in, the manager told us that they had a booking but which got cancelled so we assumed that the rooms were already in good condition. Otherwise we would have given more time for cleaning. It was only later that we started noticing things. The bathrooms were dirty, the sheets were smelly, even basic toiletries like bath towels and soap were not provided in time. When we asked for towels, they told us that they dont give towels to guests since COVID, which is such a lame excuse. Even keeping the utter lack of cleanliness and poor service aside, we felt that the rooms were very average. The property looks really beautiful from the outside but the interiors have a shabby look. Everything from the floor tiles, to sheets, to furniture, to the fixtures, to the bucket and mugs kept in the bathroom. They looked old and dirty. With a little renova

I went there looking at all the good reviews and agreed to pay the price to that of a 4 star hotel but my experience was just okay. Also, I was very tired after full day driving so just stayed there without looking for other options. Cons: - Very costly, charged me 1.9k per person instead of per room. We were five adults and 1 kid and given two rooms so avg 4.75k per room per day for ground floor rooms. - Bathroom didn’t had proper locking, exhaust fan not working, no power backup, no toiletry except soap, hand wash diluted with water and toothpaste - Water was given in unsealed disposable water bottle and refilled in same bottle. This was very awful. Paid 4.5 k for each room for this service. - The path from room to owners house was through bushes and trees and it was difficult to walk in mud just with bricks. Also it was not lighted and had to use torch provided by owner. - Breakfast just had idli and flavored rice option - No room service - No daily housekeeping Pros: - Greenery around rooms and ample car parking - Near to city Centre - Healthy food but with only 2 items in menu for breakfast. It was a pleasure to stay in this homestay. The hospitality was impressive, the owners giving quite a humble touch. The organic breakfasts were simple, yet so delicious. Location also must be credited, as it wasn't too far from town, any necessities being accessible, yet it was in the lap of nature. Few improvements to suggest is plumbing advancement, so that the hot water, considering the weather, is more free-flowing. Along with that, more lights can be installed in the cottage, to brighten the room at night.

The home stay is nestled just outside the main town, making it easily accessible for any quick shopping visits and the same time it's also quite and peaceful like how you would expect it to be in a hill station. The stay is enroute to Hirekolale lake There are different types of rooms and the one that I got a chance to see was basic. There was no TV or almirah to keep your clothes. The washroom were clean but just basic. They have a 25L water can that can be used when required and the staff can provide plates / cups when required. Food was not offered as part of our package but the staff were courteous to offer coffee. Food if required can be ordered vis swiggy but it's a challenge to direct the delivery agent to thr delivery location as it's not well mapped on Google. There are no additional amenities available at the homestay or if there were, none were informed to us. There is ample car park available. Wifi is also available with good connectivity

We went for a weekend trip with office group. The homestay is located very close to the city. We had an amazing time at the homestay. Chethan was very humble and I am writing this review for the great hospitality he provided to us. He was soft-spoken, made sure he attended all our requests and took care of everything. Hospitality : Excellent Food : It is good. But definitely can be better. Neer Dosa and Idly was really nice. Rooms : Clean and Spacious. Scope of Improvement : Place was little slushy due to rains which made it little difficult for us to walk around But Chethan has told that issue will be fixed before next rains.
