“Very disappointing and dishonest experience. When we first arrived, the staff quoted one amount and showed us the room, which was not good. After that, they pushed us to take a “premium” room and charged a higher price. During check-in, we clearly agreed that we would check out at 1 PM the next day, and they said that checkout after 10 AM would require extra charges, which we paid in advance. Despite this clear agreement and payment, the next day they started calling us repeatedly and told us we must check out by 10 AM, completely changing their statement. We explained that we had a flight at 1 PM and had already paid for late checkout. Then they demanded ₹800per hour, and later said we must pay ₹1500to stay until 1 PM. Overall, they charged us ₹6000 for a room originally quoted at ₹3,000, by repeatedly lying and changing their rules during every conversation. After further calls, they again changed their statement and reduced the amount to ₹2,000, clearly showing there was no fixed policy. This felt like a complete scam, with false promises, changing rules, and unfair charges. Very unprofessional behavior. I would strongly advise others to be careful before booking this hotel.”

“Extremely disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money paid. We initially booked one Economy Room and one Executive Room, both at different prices. Later, we shifted both bookings to Executive Rooms. However, one room’s AC was not working, so the hotel offered another room on a different floor. Since we specifically wanted rooms next to each other, we had no option but to take the only available Economy Room beside the other one. The shocking part came during billing — despite one room being clearly an Economy Room and the other an Executive Room, the hotel charged the same Executive Room tariff for both. Completely unfair and unprofessional. The Economy Room itself was in terrible condition. The window AC was leaking water continuously. We didn’t even complain because minor issues can happen sometimes, but the overall room condition was unacceptable. The sink faucet was broken, the washroom had a bad smell, and the mattress was so old and sunken that it literally felt like sleeping in a pothole. Honestly, neither room was worth even ₹1500 per night considering the condition and maintenance. The only positives were the breakfast service staff and the manager on duty, ”

“Worst Stay Ever – Unsafe, Noisy & Poor Service I had a horrible experience during my stay. At 6:45 AM, I got locked inside the bathroom due to extremely poor-quality hardware. No phone inside, travelling solo, and I had an important meeting to attend. I genuinely thought I would be stuck until someone came looking for me. Thankfully, after half an hour of trying with a toothbrush, I managed to open it – but this is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially a so-called deluxe renovated room. The bathroom was tiny, nothing like the pictures. The entire place was noisy – full renovation work sounds in the morning and loud DJ music from upstairs till midnight, making it impossible to sleep. When I told the reception staff about being locked in, they just gave a casual “sorry” without even being shocked or concerned. No apology worth the seriousness of the situation, no follow-up, nothing. If you value safety, peace, and proper hospitality – avoid this place at all costs.”

Udaya Kumar★★★★★I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. For a room that cost ₹3000 from morning to night, I expected at least basic standards. Surprisingly, no complimentary breakfast was provided, which is quite unusual for this price range. The furniture was in an unhygienic condition, and the so-called wardrobe was extremely small — it was barely a few centimeters of space with a sliding door made of plastic threads. It cannot realistically be considered a proper wardrobe. Another serious concern was the toilet water. From morning until evening, blackish dirty water was coming from the tap, which raised hygiene concerns. I am not sure whether the tank was being cleaned or if this is the usual water condition, but it was definitely unacceptable. The mattress was extremely hard, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally, I was given separate tiny beds even though I never requested them. The room also lacked basic complimentary amenities such as toothpaste kits or a kettle for making hot water or tea. Overall, the stay was far below expectations for the price paid. Because of these issues, I will not be choosing this hotel again. 6th floor,

Chinnu Anna Raju★★★★★Extremely Poor Hygiene and Service – Worst Stay Experience I stayed at Poonja International for one night after a long drive, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Within an hour of checking in, I got bug bites from the bed. The bathroom was not cleaned properly — it looked like Harpic had just been poured inside the toilet without any scrubbing. The towels and bedsheets were stained, yellowish, and clearly old. When I reported the issue, the staff showed me around four different rooms — all in equally bad condition. Some rooms had a musty, old smell like they hadn’t been used or cleaned in a long time. The front office person casually said, “I’ll show you more rooms,” as if it was my job to go hunting for a clean room after a long and tiring journey. Finally, they offered to shift me to a “premium” room that looked somewhat better, but they demanded an additional ₹2,000 for it. When I said I would rather check out and asked for a refund, they refused, claiming I had “used the room,” even though I had only been there for less than an hour — just took a shower and lay down before realizing the bed was infested. Overall, the rooms are unhygieni

Jatin Arun Sharma★★★★★Terrible Service, Avoid This Hotel. I had made booking for my parents which got cancelled due to Indigo disruption. I gave the hotel over 13 hours of notice. Despite this being an emergency travel situation outside of my control, Hotel Poonja International refused to give me any solution. They even wanted me to pay more if I wish to change the date of stay . Hotel also ignored my request to simply contact Cleartrip to help resolve the issue. Their management showed zero understanding or courtesy. I received no help when I needed it most. . The disappointing part is that even after giving a notice long before 12+ hrs , They still did not consider the request for partial refund. I strongly recommend you book somewhere else. Zero ethics is all they have. DO NOT PAY THEM IN ADVANCE

Selvarajan Kuppuswamy★★★★★Extremely expensive for no services at all. No dental kits. AC sounds like a blower. TV does not switch on. Food is also costly. I found a steelwool scrub bristle in the chicken fried rice and they never bothered to even apologise for it. We ordered cold tea when we ordered coffee and again no sorry or refund. Pathetic.

AD Rides★★★★★Good location but very poor service and all the more pathetic rooms. They don't clswrn your room till you tell them, presumably because you may have valuables. Don't you trust your staff to not touch guests valuable items? Tha bathroom is almost like public washroom. No proper soap. Just one dental kit and one bottle of water even though they charge for 3 ppl. The closet is just a niche in the wall with a sliding door. Breakfast is very basic. We are at Vishwa Bhavan opp the hotel everyday. Hammered rooms. Don't trust any good feedback.

Neethi Shetty★★★★★They have ruined the entire experience, the people ate reception told us we have free breakfast but in the morning when we went to have breakfast we were questioned multiple times and humiliated like we were staying there for free!!! Also not to forget we were asked to pay additional amount at the checkout. The team here is not polite and lack basic etiquettes. Also they do not have communication within themselves. As as service industry their priority should be treating customer politely. No one wants to pay money and be humiliated. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Tejaswini Hiremath★★★★★The worst experience, they took the booking of AC room and while checked in they tried giving the room where AC isn't working and lied and argued that it is working and we are not feeling it. They even asked me to get lost. I was a with my daughter and they really don't care for women and children. The front desk staff behave too arrogant. Its a old property without proper maintainance.

Meghana Megha★★★★★This hotel was huge letdown. The hotel feels extremely old, poorly maintained, and almost like a ghost house. Rooms are dim, dirty, and unhygienic. We previously stayed at Hera International in the same area, which was far better. Poonja seriously needs improvement—definitely not recommended.

MV NABAR★★★★★A simple advise : Book and enter this hotel at your own risk. Horrible and pathetic Hotel Poonja. And these are very mild words. In fact, there should be negative ratings available. I will rate this property at -10. Pls do not touch this hotel with a barge pole. Reception : staff at counter don't even speak Hindi or English. They think that Tulu / Kannada is the only language spoken worldwide. Extremely rude and unhelpful staff at reception. Room : Not upto the mark. Unclean with stains all around. Poor lighting in the room. AC : Extremely noisy window AC unit. Continuous humming sound. Could not sleep properly. WiFi : never worked either at reception nor in the room. No resolution in spite of repeated reminders. Toilet / Bathroom : leaking taps. Unhygienic. Mineral water : not provided at all in spite of this being mentioned while booking through booking.com Breakfast : only veg items available. Very limited choice and almost ice-cold items. And they call boiled eggs as a non-veg item. Check-out experience : although mentioned in confirmation from booking.com that check-out would be 24 hours, hotel insisted on additional payment even when I checked out at 1.45pm on 20th Nov 2025

Vriksh★★★★★Poonja International Hotel is quite old and poorly maintained. The only decent area is the reception; the rooms are in a very bad state. The entire lobby and rooms reek of smoke, which is especially concerning if you're traveling with small children—I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place. We booked two rooms. In one, the bathroom taps weren’t working. After raising a complaint, a plumber was sent who said the tap needed replacement and it would take an hour. Eventually, they shifted us to another room. In the second room, the TV wasn’t working either. The technician mentioned the TV pin was damaged and needed 30 minutes to fix. We reported these issues to Agoda customer care, and surprisingly, the receptionist(the slim tall one) raised his voice at us for contacting them directly. The customer service was extremely poor. We were exhausted, and with a baby in tow, it was difficult to argue—so we chose to stay quiet(TV issue was not fixed). There was no hot water in the rooms, only lukewarm. Breakfast was average with very limited variety.
