I’m quite disappointed with my recent experience at this hotel. While the place has many good reviews, my interaction with the staff was extremely unpleasant. One of the staff members was very rude, which completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable visit. I’m not spreading any false information — this is an honest account of my experience. The service I received was the worst I’ve encountered in any restaurant, and it was shocking to see such behavior from an establishment that claims to take pride in its service. As for the food, it was just average — nothing particularly impressive. Overall, I expected much better from a hotel with such a strong reputation.

Rajan Kerala Mess is simple and No frills Mess. Students and near by working professionals. Self service Mess. On 14/05/25, went here for lunch . It has been long time since I had food at Kerala Mess, after 1992-93 in a different Kerala mess at Davanagere. Took the Meals , with Chicken Curry and Fish Fry. Meals comprises of Rice ( white Rice and Boiled Rice- preferred rice in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka) , Cabbage Sabji ( Palya), Papad( Happala). Further Sambar, Rasam, Majjige Saru( or Mosaru Kara) - Prepared from Curd or Butter Milk . Rice and Chicken Curry were good. Fish Fry and Rice were Excellent. After a long time i tasted one of the best Fish Fry. Mild on Spices and great on taste. Rasam and Rice were good . If filling is required or additional food items required, take the plate and get the required quantity by yourself from the counter- except fish and Chicken. After Finishing the food , we need to keep the plate in respective place near wash basin for cleaning. Overall enjoyed the taste . No frills Mess serving Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food.

Good mess , both veg and noveg meals are provided three times barring Sunday night . Veg meals costs 40 rs which is quite affordable compared to other surrounding mess. Since i take kerala parota frequently i can tell it's good . Authenticity can be cross cehcked as people's palatability varies .
