We visited for lunch today expecting great food based on the high online ratings, but it fell short of the hype.The chicken starters were tasty and a good start. However, the chicken urval was underwhelming and didn't meet expectations. The real disappointment was their famous chicken dum biryani—it tasted sour with a bitter aftertaste, the rice was overcooked and stale, and it clearly wasn't fresh. We couldn't eat it.Service was okay, but the food quality needs improvement. Won't rush back.

I’ve visited this place multiple times, but unfortunately the service has never improved. The staff taking orders often come across as uninterested, almost like they’re being forced to do it rather than actually wanting to help customers. That said, the food is genuinely good. The Jaithai chicken stands out, and dishes like chicken sukka and chicken lollipop are quite enjoyable—no complaints there at all. It’s just disappointing that the quality of food isn’t matched by the service. With better staff attitude and hospitality, this place could be much better. The lemon chicken was extremely disappointing. There was no lemon flavour whatsoever, and the dish was overloaded with egg, making it taste more like an omelette. When we raised this concern, the waiter claimed this is how it’s supposed to be and was unwilling to accept feedback. We barely ate half a piece of chicken, yet the full amount was billed. This experience was very unsatisfactory.

The receptionist had a bad attitude. I had a two-day consecutive booking. I asked if I could get an early check-in for my parents on my second day's booking(since my parents train will reach in the morning). The receptionist was not ready to give an early check-in, nor was he willing to at least let them freshen up in my room. Just because of this i had to again book an extra day. It's a very cheap business mentality. Would never ever recommend or book here again. It's the first time for me in Kundapur, it paints a really bad picture of people's mentality here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. Before check-in, they promised several services that were completely denied after arrival. To make things worse, there was no water available to freshen up, and all attempts to contact the staff went unanswered. Due to the poor service and lack of basic amenities, I had no choice but to check out early. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Extremely disappointing experience. The staff were not only unprofessional but also used foul language when we questioned the completely incorrect bill. They changed the bill three times, yet continued to argue unnecessarily instead of resolving the issue. Even after speaking to the owner, there was no accountability. I strongly recommend avoiding this place, as it appears to be run by unruly and disrespectful staff.

One of the most expensive hotel in Udupi district. Shetty Lunch Home is much much better than this. For 6 small prawns they will charge 650 in other hotels it’s not more than Rs.250/- .For smalllest Kane fish they will charge 500. So guys please don’t go this hotel.
