Good facility also food and nice library Backward Classes Welfare DepartmentThe Government of Karnataka, in 1977, identified the backward classes and minorities in the state and created a separate “Backward Classes and Minorities Department” for their welfare and development. It has provided for educational reservation under Article 15(4) and occupational reservation under Article 16(4) of the Constitution of India. In 1999-2000, the Minority Welfare Department was separated from the Backward Classes Welfare Department and has a separate Directorate. At present, the Backward Classes Welfare Department has a separate Commissionerate and is continuously organizing programs to bring the backward classes into the mainstream of society by providing social justice, educational encouragement and financial assistance. The Backward Classes Welfare Department is implementing state and district level programs, while at the district level, the District Backward Classes Welfare Officers and Taluk Backward Classes Welfare Officers are implementing the programs under the supervision of the District Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officers.
