It was the only common route towards tamilnadu southwards, after short distance towards west to Kerala, towards north to bangalore via mysore, kollegal..and east towards BR hills and MM hills(via santhemarahalli- yellandur-Kollegala). Name Pachappa Circle comes from a hotel run by Pachappa. Now hotel is not there. But there is a petrol bunk still functioning in the east corner. Circle is not a tourist site to visit, just a circle with sognal lights.
